Alan Dunbar, 84, of Wellsville, passed away at 8:25 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville.

Per Alan’s wishes, no services will be held. Myers Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

George Alan Dunbar was born on July 13, 1938, in Buell. He was the son of George and Elizabeth (Williams) Dunbar. On November 13, 1971, in Clayton, he married Diana M. Haislip, who survives.

Alan graduated from Wellsville-Middletown R-1 in 1956. He worked at the Des Peres Quarry, Cantaberry Farm Center and the Callaway Nuclear Plant. He enjoyed coyote hunting, fishing and deer hunting.

In addition to his wife Diana, survivors include two sons, Michael Alan Dunbar, of Wellsville, and James C. (Judy) Bishop Jr., of Middletown; three daughters, Sharon Ann (Fred) Brown, of Union, Donna Marie Bishop, of Wellsville, and Kellie Lorraine (David) Schaeffer, of Princeville, Illinois; one sister, Margie Jean Vedder, of Wellsville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Madge Lucille Whyte, Joan M. Slavens, and Bettie Mae Smith.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. They may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
