The Montgomery County and Wellsville-Middletown FFA chapters have announced their new officer teams for the 2026-27 school year.

MCHS’ officer team includes Reed Pottebaum (president), Dallas Hans (vice-president), Emma Cobb (vice-president), Ann Rose (vice-president), Lily Hillebrand (secretary), Jillian Weekley (secretary), Lafe McCurdy (treasurer), Olivia Spurgeon (reporter), Thomas Happe (sentinel), Owen Hillebrand (historian) and Anna Kay Johnson (parliamentarian).

Kara Freie (president), Leah Kleinsorge (vice-president), Royce Wilkinson (secretary), Gage Nichols (treasurer), Garrett Poage (reporter) and Jade Thompson (sentinel) make up the W-M officer team.

MCHS’ officer team was announced on April 27 after the chapter held officer interviews during that day. Out of the 11 officers, nine will return from the 2025-26 officer team. They are Pottebaum, Hans, Cobb, Rose, Weekley, McCurdy, Happe and the Hillebrand siblings.

Also, there will be seven seniors on next year’s officer team. They are Pottebaum, Hans, Rose, Weekley, McCurdy, Spurgeon and Lily Hillebrand. Happe and Owen Hillebrand will be juniors and Johnson will be a sophomore.

Pottebaum will serve his third year as officer next year. His older brother, Landon, was president in the 2024-25 school year. Pottebaum shared vice-president duties with Hans and Lily Hillebrand this year and served as secretary in his sophomore year. Also, Pottebaum was selected as the Area V chaplain next year.

Hans, Rose and Lily Hillebrand will also return for their third year as officers next year. Rose, who will be an Area V reporter next year, was an historian/chaplain this year.

Pottebaum will replace Gracie Cobb as president next year. Cobb served in her third year as officer this year and was the only senior on the officer team.
Weekley, McCurdy, Happe, Emma Cobb and Owen Hillebrand will be back for their second year as officers next year. Happe will retain his role as sentinel in ‘26-27. This year, Weekley was a reporter, Cobb was a treasurer and McCurdy and Hillebrand were secretaries.

Spurgeon will return to the officer team next year after a year hiatus. She served as treasurer when she was a sophomore.

Johnson will be on the officer team for the first time. She was a Greenhand Degree recipient and helped the food science team place 16th in state competition.

Out of the six officers of the W-M team, five of them are coming back next year. They are Freie, Kleinsorge, Wilkinson, Nichols and Poage. Freie, Kleinsorge and Nichols will be seniors and Wilkinson and Poage will be juniors. Thompson, a sophomore, will serve on the officer team for the first time.

This year, Kleinsorge served as president, Freie was the secretary, Poage was the reporter, Nichols was the historian and Wilkinson was the chaplain.
Gavyn Moritz and Abbie Freie were the only seniors on this year’s officer team, serving as vice president and treasurer, respectively.

Both MCHS and W-M FFA chapters will hold their spring banquets at 6 p.m. on May 8.
