Barbara Lynn Layton, 66, of Montgomery City, passed away on October 9, 2023, at University Hospital in Columbia. Barbara married the love of her life, David, in May 1982. Barbara spent most of her life with David in Montgomery City, a town they loved and never left. She enjoyed crafting, running garage sales and crocheting. But, most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Barbara will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ferdinand and Dorothy Schepp; and her sister, Carol Helgans. She is survived by her husband, David, and two sons, Michael (Janet) Raines and Daniel (Christina) Layton. Barbara is survived by her grandchildren, Dakota and Devon Raines, Kayla (Michael) Leitman, Breanna, Bailey and Daniel Layton and Erralynn Raines; and four great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held in her honor at the Montgomery City Lions Club building on Sunday, November 5 from 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
