Betty Jean Hopper Smith, 65, of Montgomery City, died Sunday, October 16, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.
Betty Jean Smith was born on February 1, 1957 in Fulton to Jerry Eugene Hopper and Betty Alice Hall Hopper. She graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School.
Betty worked at Henniges Automotive as a quality engineer until her health started to decline. She enjoyed reading, watching True Crime on television and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by two children: Angelique Pearson of Montgomery City; and Alexandra Harrison and husband Keith of Georgia; grandchildren, Austin Eugene Pearson, Lorna “Salem” Jean Morton and Julian Harrison; sister, Susie Lynn and husband Bruce and their children, Jake Lynn and wife Beth, and Sarah Eckler and husband Steven; brother, Jerry Eugene “Butch” Hopper, Jr. and wife Sherry of Mexico (Audrain County); and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Eugene Hopper and Betty Alice Hall Hopper.
Betty was cremated and there won’t be any services at this time. Schlanker Funeral Home of Montgomery City was in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be made to www.schlankerfuneralhome.com.
