Birthright of Montgomery City would like to share with the community the services it provided for its clients in 2025. As of the end of December, Birthright (BR) had 51 mothers and 53 babies/children that it is serving. In 2025, Birthright had 30 new babies. Six clients will have babies in 2026 and BR has had 31 new families that have joined the organization in 2025. Birthright continues to increase in numbers each year.

Birthright provides encouragement and support for expectant women and their families. The organization believes that “it is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth --- and the right of every child to be born.”

The organization provides expectant mothers a layette with numerous baby items after their baby is born. These layettes are worth approximately $350. Twenty-three layettes were distributed this last year. Birthright also offers diapers to our families for their children up to 2 years of age. In 2025, BR distributed over 54,933 diapers and 396 baby wipes. Birthright allows 150 diapers a month for the clients’ children up to age 1 year, then it provides 100 diapers a month until the child is 2 years old. Birthright also keeps gently used baby clothing up to size 2T. The clients or anyone in the community are welcome to pick out clothing for their children. In 2025, 83 children received clothing.

Birthright had over 451 visits to its office. These could include clients or citizens of the community. Birthright has 31 volunteers that give of their time to keep this organization functioning. In 2025, those volunteers put in over 1000 hours of service.

The Birthright office is open five days a week. The hours of operation are Monday-Wednesday-Friday 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Tuesday- Thursday 4 p.m.-7 p.m. and the last Saturday of each month from 10 a.m.-noon. In 2025 the Birthright office was open 770 hours.

Birthright is funded by generous individuals of the community, Montgomery Area United Way, Knights of Columbus and many local churches. It has 2 fund raisers a year: in May, the Mother’s Day Rose campaign and in November, a BBQ. Birthright’s co-directors are Janis Milzark and Suzie Adams.

Anyone is welcome to visit the office at 110 W. Second Street in Montgomery City. Anyone who would like to make a donation to Birthright of Montgomery City can drop it off at the office or mail checks to PO Box 83, Montgomery City, MO 63361.
