Robert Lee "Bob" Elmore, was born on September 17, 1937 in St. Charles to Edward Lee Elmore and Lelia Claudean (nee: Massie) Elmore. Bob passed away peacefully into God's care on April 17, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.

Bob married the love of his life, Carlene (nee: Newell) Elmore.  They enjoyed a fantastic life of 65 years together. Four children made their life complete and so happy; Lisa Brown (Dennis), Rob Elmore, Todd Elmore (Lisa) and Carla Elmore; amazing grandchildren, Ben Brown (Nikki), Luke Brown (Katie), Alex Elmore (Jess), Noah Elmore, Victor Schrpone (best friend Nikki); precious great-grandchildren, Jax Brown, Charlotte Brown, Leah Brown, Levi Brown and Dean Elmore; Carlene's brother-in-law, Gale Fridley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jack; parents-in-law Carl and Charlotte Newell; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Mades and Peggy Fridley; beautiful daughter-in-law, Kelly Elmore; and precious grandchildren Zachary Lee Elmore and Jessyca Leigh Scarpone.

Bob built a successful business, O'Fallon Auto Supply and Country Hill Auto Parts, in O'fallon, St. Peters and Old Monroe. He was well known as the NAPA guy. He had a way with joking and sarcasm that kept his customers and friends coming back for more.

Mr. Elmore built houses, commercial buildings and a barn. He and Carlene loved traveling, going to national parks, unexpected destinations, the Outer Banks (North Carolina), riverboats, trains and cruises.

Bob always came back to his favorite place of all of the farms. He enjoyed raising calves, sawing wood and driving his mule, with his guard dog, Gussie, at his side through the woods. He treasured this time looking for mushrooms, asparagus, fallen trees and wildflowers, which he brought back in huge bouquets for his sweetheart.

Bob loved hayrides (he drove his tractors), Halloween parties, Thanksgiving at the farm, making Christmas morning breakfast, taking grandkids to breakfast and eating chocolate chip cookies in bed while reading. He was proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation and funeral services were held on April 29 at St. Charles Presbyterian Church. Memorial donations are preferred to The Sweet Jessy Project (www.thesweetjessyproject.com) or to the St. Charles Presbyterian Church.
