Clarence Boyer

Clarence Leo Boyer, 87, of Richland (Pulaski County), passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at his home.

Clarence was born in Macon on July 15, 1936, the son of the late Clarence C. & Hazel E. (Viers) Boyer. He was the widower of Margaret (Prior) Boyer. They were married for over 50 years. Margaret preceded him in death on January 16, 2018.

Clarence worked as a forklift driver for McGraw-Hill Book Publishing Company in Manchester. He later worked part-time for the Missouri State Park System as a groundskeeper. In his free time, Clarence loved spending time with his family, fishing and going on fishing tournaments and hunting.

Clarence is survived by a son, Clarence Boyer Jr. & wife Sharry, of Naples, Fla.; two step-sons, Justin Craig and wife Claresa of Murdock, Neb.; and Harold Strait and wife Barbara of Gerald (Franklin County); sister, Nona Unk, of Union; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a step-son, James Lewis Craig.

Visitation will be held on Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.-noon at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in  New Florence, where funeral services will follow at noon with Rev. George Prior officiating. Burial will be at New Florence Cemetery. 

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
