The Montgomery County and Wellsville-Middletown FFA chapters have announced their new officer teams for the 2025-26 school year.
MCHS’ officer team includes Gracie Cobb (president), Dallas Hans (vice-president), Lily Hillebrand (vice-president), Reed Pottebaum (vice-president), Owen Hillebrand (secretary), Lafe McCurdy (secretary), Emma Cobb (treasurer), Jillian Weekley (reporter), Thomas Happe (sentinel) and Ann Rose (historian and chaplain).

MCHS’ officer team was announced on April 28 after the chapter held officer interviews during that morning. Out of the 10 officers, five will return from the 2024-25 officer team. They are Hans, Rose, Pottebaum, Lily Hillebrand and Gracie Cobb.
Gracie Cobb will serve her third year as officer next year. She shared vice-president duties with Beckham Cothren and Avery Ridgley this year and served as treasurer in her sophomore year. She will be the only senior on the officer team.
This year, Gracie Cobb was an area proficiency award winner in agriculture communications and qualified for state competition in that category. She also was a junior candidate on the barnwarming court.
Lily Hillebrand, a sophomore, will be vice-president next year after serving as historian this year. She was part of a forestry team – which included Reed Pottebaum, Landon Pottebaum and Owen Hillebrand – that finished 22nd in state competition.
Hans, a sophomore, has moved to VP after being the sentinel this year. He was named a chapter degree recipient during the winter awards reception in November.
Reed Pottebaum, a sophomore, will share VP duties with Hillebrand and Hans next year after being secretary this year. He was also named a chapter degree recipient.
Rose, a sophomore, served as reporter this year. She helped the livestock team – which included Hans, Lafe McCurdy and Max Angel – qualify for state competition.
McCurdy, Owen Hillebrand, Emma Cobb, Jillian Weekley and Thomas Happe will serve as officers for the first time next year.
Four MCHS seniors served as officers this year. They were Landon Pottebaum (president), Avery Ridgley (vice-president), Beckham Cothren (vice-president) and Jonah Happe (secretary).
The MCHS FFA will have its spring banquet at 6 p.m. on May 9 at the high school gymnasium.
The W-M FFA had its spring banquet on April 28 at the school’s gymnasium, and that’s where the new officers were introduced.
Out of the eight officers, three of them are coming back from this year’s officer teams. They are Kleinsorge and the Freie sisters. Kleinsorge was the sentinel, Abbie Freie was the treasurer and Kara Freie was the chaplain this year.
Kleinsorge, a sophomore, had older sisters – Abbigail and Libby – who served on the FFA chapter. She qualified for districts in Division 2 Prepared Public Speaking after placing third in area competition.
Abbie Freie will be the only senior on next year’s officer team. Kara Freie will be a junior next fall.
Mortiz, Poage, Gilbert, Nichols and Wilkinson will serve as officers for the first time next year.
Maddi Poage was the only senior on this year’s officer team. She was the chapter president the last two years.
