Two drivers suffered injuries following an accident in the afternoon on April 12 on Highway 19, just north of Highway B in Montgomery City.
According to the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 12:30 p.m., a 17-year-old male driver from Montgomery City drove a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado and struck the rear of a 62-year-old Montgomery City male driver, who was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The 17-year-old was unaware of the 62-year-old being stopped in traffic.
The 17-year-old suffered minor injuries and is seeking medical treatment at a later time. The 62-year-old suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the University of Missouri Hospital.
Both vehicles were totaled and both drivers were wearing safety belts.
