George Enoch Maroney, Jr., was born on August 6, 1941, to George E. Maroney, Sr. and Mary L. Smith Johnson (Mrs. Abner Johnson), who both preceded him in death.
George passed away in California on February 19, 2022 at the age of 80, following a short and sudden illness. George was married to Wilma Margaret Loyd on April 6, 1991. Wilma preceded him in death in 2019. He was a long-time employee of General Motors Corporation and retired from the Wentzville plant. He also lived in Montgomery City, Auxvasse and Fulton for many years.
Surviving are his children in California, Debbie, Kim and Paula; grandchildren; five siblings; and their respective extended families and friends.
Also mourning George’s passing are Wilma’s daughter and son-in laws, Victoria Anice Moore Gordon and Gary Gordon; Leola Lynnette Moore Bailey and Gene Bailey; grandchildren, their spouses and great-grandchildren. George leaves behind his sister-in-law, Anice Loyd Renner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends in Missouri.
George was preceded in death by his two sons and one sister.
