Ignatius Busken

Ignatius Benedict Busken, 62, of rural Montgomery City, died on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at the Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville.

Ignatius Benedict Busken was born on August 25, 1959 in St. Louis County to Ignatius Joseph Busken and Marian Theresa Pezold Busken. Ignatius was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montgomery City. He worked for the Independent Stave Mill Co. in New Florence, worked for the City of Montgomery and helped take out the old railroad tracks in Buell. He was a very hard worker until his health started to decline. 

Ignatius enjoyed going to farm equipment auctions, going to the Montgomery County Old Threshers, going to tractor pulls and going for rides with his dog, Oscar, on his John Deere Gator down gravel roads. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Ignatius is survived by his brothers: Gerard Busken and wife, Sharon, of Warrenton; Michael Busken of Montgomery City; Kevin Busken and wife, Juanita, of Montgomery City; Joseph Busken of Montgomery City; Mark Busken and wife, Donna, of New Florence; and Paul Busken and wife, Davina, of Curryville. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, friends, and his faithful and loving dog, Oscar.

Ignatius was preceded in death by his parents, Ignatius Joseph Busken and Marian Theresa Pezold Busken; and niece, Sarah.

Private family services will be held at the Schlanker Funeral Home. Father Ernest Dike will officiate and interment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, near Montgomery City. Casketbearers will include his brothers, Gerard, Michael, Kevin, Joseph, Mark and Paul Busken.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or to the Montgomery County Senior Center, in care of Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO 63361.
