James Allen Hill, of Bellflower, died Saturday, December 24, 2022, at his home. He was 83 years old.

James was born on September 26, 1939, in Middletown, the son of William Stanley and Naomi Nichols Hill. He married Frieda Elaine Park on January 12, 1957, in Montgomery City. They had five children and 50 wonderful years together. Frieda preceded him in death on February 23, 2007. James loved being outside, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He could always be found tinkering with lawn mowers and old cars and was always up for a project. He also enjoyed listening to people’s markets and playing bingo on the radio. He was a member of the Wellsville Gun Club and the NRA.

Mr. Hill is survived by his five children: Gregory Allen Hill, David Earl Hill, Donna Elaine Hill, Harold Dean Hill, Steven Ray Hill and his wife, Amy; grandchildren: Cory Hill and wife, Jenny, Joshua Hill, Paige Hill and Amber Pilkenton, Kayla Hill, Kellie and Jason Nord, Kloey Hill, Cody Hill, Holly Hill, Zachary Hill and Kennedy Hill, Lauren Hill, Hayden Hill, Logan Hill; great-grandchildren: Corryn Weller and husband, Grant, Hailey Miller and husband, Dylan, Travis Hill, Reese Hill, Wesley Hill, Ellie Goggin, Owen See, Floyd Shannon III, Easton Hill, Reagan Hill, Konner Nord, Elayna Nord, Charolette, Kenzee Hill, Kylo Hill, Zayleigh Hill; and great-great-grandchildren: Aziza Weller and Oakley Miller.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda Elaine Park Hill, parents, William and Naomi Stanley, and siblings: William Franklin Hill, Ottmer Hill, Pauline Hill Potter, George Hill, John Hill, Wynema Hill Seay, and Barbara Hill Lemasters.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City. A visitation will be at 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Casketbearers are Cory, Josh, Kayla, Paige, Kellie, Kloey, Cody, Holly, Zachary, Lauren, Hayden and Logan Hill.
