Janice Maskey, 74, of Wellsville, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at her home.

Private services will be held at a later date. Myers Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Janice was born in Mexico (Audrain County) on May 14, 1948, the daughter of George “Doe” and Barbara (Bishop) Fort. She married Gary Maskey on June 6, 1964. Gary survives.

Janice was a seamstress and worked with Swingmaster Garment Factory and Wick Outdoor Works. She also worked in the cafeteria at the Wellsville-Middletown R-1 School.

Janice enjoyed tending to her flowers, vegetable gardening, feeding and watching birds and traveling.

In addition to her husband Gary, survivors include two daughters, Lynn Leible, of Columbia, and Stacy Maskey, of Fulton; two brothers, Sam (Cindy) Fort, of Wellsville, and Tim Fort, of Kansas City; two sisters, Jane (Butch) Clark, of Fulton, and Kay Oliver, of Kansas City; and one grandson, Joseph (Ashley) Leible, of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother-in-law, Robert “Cotton” Oliver.

Memorials may be given to the ALS Association, or the Middletown Cemetery Association (Fairmount Cemetery). They may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
