Jerry Ray Hoffmann of Montgomery City passed away on September 25, 2023 in his home surrounded by family. 

Jerry was born to Art and Carol (Wilson) Hoffmann on January 15, 1957, in St. Charles. He attended Montgomery County High School, where he met the love of his life and soul mate. He married his soul mate, Darla (Dillman) Hoffmann, on September 1, 1979 in Jonesburg.

Jerry enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, friends and fur baby Jazzmann. Jerry was a faithful attendee of the Rising Sun Baptist Church, where his eldest son is the senior pastor.

Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Sharon (Hoffmann) Niemeyer, niece Trudy (Dillman) Smith and nephew Oliver Finley.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 44 wonderful years Darla (Dillman) Hoffmann; his sons, Willie Hoffmann (wife Shannon) and Jacob Hoffmann (wife Rachael); his precious granddaughters, Olivia and Abbie Hoffmann; siblings, Kenny Hoffmann and Art Hoffmann, Jr.; in-laws, David Dillman, Jimmy Dillman, Flora Dillman-Humphrey, Carla (Dillman) Olsen and Janet Dillman; and numerous nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

He is also survived by a special family, the Flowers family of Illinois; special lifelong friends, Darren Dillman, Bob Bishop, John Groteluschen (Sweede) and Eddie Pilla; and so many more.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Oct. 2 at the New Florence Baptist Church in New Florence, with Pastor Wil Hoffmann and Pastor Brian Larkin officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

A visitation will be held at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of services.
