Mrs. Lillian Lorene (Nee: Palmer) Winter of Jonesburg passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. She was born February 25, 1935 in St. Louis to the late William Henry and Lilly Elizabeth (Nee: Cox) Palmer. She was 87.

Lillian worked for McDonnell Douglas for many years as an inspector. She was a devoted Christian and member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Warrenton, where she was active in the church choir, the Ladies Aid, Stephens Ministry and was also a Lay Reader. She enjoyed going camping, playing horseshoes, watching the Cardinals, playing a variety of card games, dancing, traveling to Hawaii and spending time with family. Lillian was a devoted wife and mother and found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents William and Lilly; her first husband, Areland Ray Slayden; second husband, Grover Albrecht; two sons, Michael Slayden and Raymond Slayden; two brothers, William Ernst Palmer and Coy James Palmer; grandchildren, Tricia, Shania, Dawson and Mackenzie Slayden. 

Those who are grateful for having shared in Lillian's life are her husband, David; three children, Areland Slayden and wife Tammy, Stephen Slayden and Cheri Verme and husband Art; stepchildren, Lloyd Winter and wife Christie, Lisa Brooks and husband Greg; eight grandchildren, Summer Kohring (Patrick), Autumn Rebillot (Paul), Stephen Slayden, Sean Slayden (Jenna), Crystal Schmidt (Clayton), Ashley Schilling (Kenny), Nichole Slayden, Ray Slayden; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Wednesday June 1, 2022 at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. and on Thursday June 2, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Warrenton from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, followed by a luncheon immediately after the service. The committal service will start at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in St. Ann.
