Since 2023, Savannah Hollaway has been serving the Montgomery County area by providing advanced facial treatments, waxing and makeup services to customers at her business, Hollaway Esthetics, LLC.
Next month, the Montgomery City resident plans to add a new service that would help bring some comfort to cancer patients.
Starting May 1, Hollaway will introduce oncology skin care facials to her business, which is located at 1048 Bishop Lane in Montgomery City. She will offer the facials free of charge to customers who are actively undergoing cancer treatment.
Hollaway said the goal for her new service is to help the patrons have access to skin care that supports their skin health as well as help them relax through their cancer journey.
“With cancer patients, they’re always going to doctor appointments and treatments,” Hollaway said. “A lot of stressful appointments that they can possibly find bad news about is not like a happy time. They’ll also find out good news, but they always go into it knowing it could be a bad outcome or they could be stressed about it. Or they’ll go through treatment and they know they’re going to feel horrible afterwards. So I kind of want to provide an appointment where you can come and be excited and have something positive to look forward to and relax and kind of not worry about that for a while.”
Hollaway is currently taking an advanced course on oncology skin care. She plans to complete it on May 1.
“I wanted to do it,” Hollaway said. “So I was talking to my husband and I said I have all of these courses I wanted to do. I think this one will be the first one that I will focus on because I feel like it’s the most important out of all of the ones they offer.”
Hollaway said it was important to have a service that will help out cancer patients since the disease affected her family.
“Everybody knows somebody who has dealt with cancer, whether it’s somebody personal, you heard about it or it’s yourself,” Hollaway said. “My grandfather (Jim Carper) actually passed away a couple of years back from lung cancer. It was personal to me and I’m sure it’s personal to everybody because everybody knows somebody who has cancer or they had it themselves.”
A 2015 Montgomery County High graduate, Hollaway has been a licensed esthetician since 2023. She opened her business in May 2023. Her husband, Trevor, turned their home’s garage into a beauty shop.
“I wanted to open this business in a smaller area because there are a lot of cities and every city has multiple of these businesses,” said Hollaway, who has been living in Montgomery City since she was 2 years old. “Everybody in these small towns have to drive to get these services. I want to provide it a little closer to home with a little bit cheaper prices so that way they didn’t have to go so far and to bring more things to do in our community because we are a small town. But more things are coming to our community.”
Hollaway Esthetics is open by appointment only from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 9 a.m.-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Hollaway said she hopes that adding an oncology skin care facial service will help bring a boost to her business.
“I would like to see more people come in,” Hollaway said. “I would like to meet more people and help them feel great in their skin and help them achieve all of the goals they want and feel great in their skin and help cancer patients feel relaxed.”
