Mildred Percy

Mildred F. Percy, 91, of Bellflower, died on Sunday, May 7, 2023 in St. Charles.

Mildred was born February 4, 1932 in Montgomery County to Clarence and Ada (Hart) Clark. She was a graduate of Bellflower High School in 1950. Later that year, she married William “Bill” Percy on December 9, 1950 at Wellsville. They were happily married for over 69 wonderful years. Mildred worked at the St. Charles Clinic as a medical secretary. She was a member of the Bellflower Presbyterian Church and the Bellflower Fireflies group. 

Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She often spent time gardening, canning or reading a good romance novel. She was a great cook who made an amazing pecan pie. She and Bill were inseparable and did everything together, attending kids sporting events and spending time on their boat during the yearly family vacation to Lake of the Ozarks. Mildred adored her family and friends, hosting “Sunday Beer Gardens” every Sunday after church where everyone was invited to enjoy a BBQ, beer and good company. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mildred is survived by her son, Ron Percy and wife, Tracy, of St. Charles; daughter-in-law, Sue Percy of O’Fallon; grandchildren, Jeremy Percy, Chris Percy, Tyler (Bridget) Percy, Kristin Percy and Darren (Missy) Nessl; great grandchildren, Brian, Abby and Jason; brother-in-law, Jerry Lotton; and numerous extended friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Percy; daughter, Wanda Nessl, and husband, Roy; son, Danny Percy; grandson, Doug Nessl; her parents, Clarence and Ada (Hart) Clark; brother, Harold Clark and wife, Karen; and two sisters, Marjorie Lotton and Evelyn Little.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City. Followed by interment in the Bellflower Cemetery in Bellflower. Casketbearers include Jeremy Percy, Chris Percy, Tyler Percy, Darren Nessl, Randy Lotton and Brian Clark. Honorary casketbearers include Kristin Percy, Louie Percy, Matt Clark, Jacob Lotton and Shane Lotton.
