Molly Jones

Molly Jones, age 82, of Montgomery City, passed away on August 16, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on December 8, 1940 in Wellsville, the daughter of William Lester Yelton and Elsie Marie (Delozier) Yelton.

Molly married Virgil Leslie (Curly) Jones in Tupelo, Miss., on May 3, 1958. They were married for 65 years. For many years, they owned and operated the Red Barn, a local bar/restaurant that is famous for their ham sandwiches and is located in Montgomery City. She was also a cook at Montgomery County High School.

Molly enjoyed fishing with her husband and family on the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. She also loved collecting antiques and enjoyed attending flea markets and auctions to find her treasured head vases.

Molly is survived by her husband, Curly Jones of Montgomery City; son, Randy and wife Nancy of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and daughter, Chris and husband Mike of Wellsville; daughter-in-law,  Sandy (Jahnssen) Jones; six grandchildren, Grant Jones, Clint Jones, Chrystal Jones, Sabrina Jones, Cody Jones and Carson Jones; and three great-grandchildren, Atlanta Kobusch, Austin Smith and Noah Jones. 

Preceding Molly in death are her son, Steven Lester Jones; her parents, William Lester Yelton and Elsie Marie (Delozier) Yelton; and many beloved aunts, uncles and friends.

There will be no services at this time.
