The Montgomery County R-II School Board approved the calendar for next year during a meeting on March 12.
The first day of the 2026-27 school year will be Aug. 25, which is later in the past years. The district began its 2025-26 school year on Aug. 19. There will be 67 days in the first semester and 80 in the second for next school year.
Thanksgiving break is scheduled for Nov. 25-27. A two-week break starts on Dec. 22, when students are dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Spring break will run from March 26-29.
High school graduation will be on May 23. The last day of school will be on May 27. The professional development/work days are Aug. 17-20, Oct. 5, Nov. 9, Jan. 4 and March 8.
School will be in session on Mondays three times during the school year. The dates are Nov. 23, Dec. 21 and March 22.
Also, the summer school dates are from June 3-30.
The last day of school for the 2025-26 school year is May 21. The high school graduation is scheduled for May 17.
