On October 25, deputies conducted a traffic stop in Montgomery City for an equipment violation. Upon contacting the occupants’ deputies observed that all individuals in the vehicle were under 21 years of age and they detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The driver submitted to a preliminary breath test which indicated a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .131%. Both passengers also provided breath samples, each showing a BAC above .080%. The driver and one passenger were arrested and transported to the MC Jail. The third occupant was released to a parent and issued a citation for minor visibly intoxicated. The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated and the passenger was charged with minor visibly intoxicated.

Also on October 25, deputies received information regarding a wanted subject staying at a residence on Massas Creek Road in Jonesburg. Deputies confirmed the individual had an active warrant with a $10,000 cash-only bond and full U.S. extradition. Deputies responded to the residence, located the subject and took him into custody without incident. He was arrested and transported to the MC Jail for his warrants.
Also on October 25, deputies were conducting a follow-up investigation into a report of a felon in possession of firearms. Deputies made contact with the suspect at his residence. Through the course of the investigation deputies were granted permission to search the residence, where they located a total of three firearms. The firearms were seized as evidence and charges for possession of a firearm by a felon have been filed with the Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
On October 26, deputies observed a vehicle traveling 90 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 19 near Industrial Road. Upon contact with the driver, deputies detected a strong odor of intoxicants. The driver was asked to perform the standardized field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested and transported to the MC Jail, where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Careless and Imprudent Driving.
On October 27, deputies observed a vehicle being operated in a careless manner on Highway 19 near Mitchell Road. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and upon contact with the driver noticed signs of impairment and detected a strong odor of intoxicants. While deputies were questioning the driver the subject suddenly placed the vehicle in drive and accelerated at a high rate of speed, causing the tires to spin and the vehicle to fishtail, nearly striking a deputy. Deputies pursued the vehicle for approximately two miles before it came to a stop in a bean field. The driver then fled on foot into a wooded area. Deputies pursued the subject into the woods where he was apprehended and taken into custody. The driver was transported to the MC Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
Also on October 27, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 19 for an equipment violation. During the course of the stop deputies learned the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license and was in the country illegally. The driver was arrested and transported to the MC Jail. The St. Louis ICE Office was contacted and issued a detainer on the subject. The driver also received a citation for driving without a valid license.
