On January 9, deputies were investigating a disturbance in Bellflower. During the investigation deputies made contact with two subjects near Highway V and Leonard Road. One subject directed deputies to a clear zip-lock bag containing a crystalline substance which later field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Both subjects admitted to having smoked methamphetamine approximately four hours prior to contact with law enforcement. Further investigation revealed that the subjects had traveled from Montgomery City to an address in Bellflower for the purpose of obtaining the methamphetamine. One subject admitted to transporting the other to Bellflower, knowing the controlled substance was obtained and carried on the other subject’s person. A verbal argument occurred during the return trip resulting in the subjects separating prior to law enforcement contact. Based on the statements of the involved parties, physical evidence recovered, and admissions made after Miranda Warnings, there was probable cause to believe one subject committed the offense of delivery of a controlled substance and the other subject committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the MC Jail.
Also on January 9, deputies learned of a wanted subject in the Jonesburg area. Deputies responded to the address and made contact with the subject who was found to have two active warrants for possession of a controlled substance. The subject was arrested and transported to the MC Jail without incident.
On January 10, deputies stopped a vehicle traveling on Winkelmann Road displaying expired registration. Upon making contact with the driver deputies conducted a records check and determined the driver’s driving privileges were revoked. Further investigation revealed the driver also had an active warrant issued out of Warren County. The driver was taken into custody, transported to the MC Jail and charged with driving while revoked.
On January 11, deputies responded to the High Hill area regarding a reported theft incident where all involved parties were on scene and engaged in a heated verbal exchange. During the investigation deputies determined the dispute involved a skid steer and a trailer that had been taken from the victim’s residence. Further investigation revealed the skid steer had been purchased jointly by both parties; however, the trailer was determined to be solely owned by the victim. The suspect was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with stealing. Both parties were advised that the dispute concerning the skid steer was a civil matter and would need to be resolved through civil court.
On January 12, deputies stopped a vehicle in the High Hill area for a traffic and registration violation. During the traffic stop deputies noted a large amount of marijuana smoke coming from the vehicle upon contact. Through further investigation deputies located a bag with a large amount of psilocybin mushrooms, digital scale, an unknown white powdery substance and a large amount of cash. The driver and passenger were both arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to register a motor vehicle and following too close.
On January 14, deputies conducted a traffic stop in Montgomery City on a vehicle displaying plates belonging to another vehicle. During the investigation deputies determined the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license and that the vehicle’s registration was expired. The driver admitted to removing license plates from another vehicle and placing them on the vehicle he was operating. The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the MC Jail. The driver was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and failing to register a motor vehicle.
