Montgomery County Sheriff's Report

Posted

On January 23, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a truck for failing to display license plates. During the course of the stop deputies discovered the driver was in possession of a plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. The driver was arrested and transported to the MC Jail. Prior to entering the facility the driver was advised that introducing narcotics into the jail would result in additional felony charges. During the booking process a second plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance, which also field-tested positive for methamphetamine, was located on the subject. The subject was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and delivery or concealment of narcotics in a county jail.

On January 26, deputies observed a subject operating a bicycle in an unsafe manner in Wellsville. Deputies attempted to stop the individual however, the subject quickly parked the bicycle, knocked on the door of a closed business and entered the building. Deputies made contact with the subject inside and observed him to be extremely nervous. While the subject was digging through his bag, deputies observed a glass methamphetamine pipe with burnt residue. A search of the bag was conducted and deputies located a plastic baggie containing methamphetamine. During the investigation deputies also located a power bank that was still in its packaging. Further investigation revealed the subject had stolen the item from Casey’s. The subject was arrested and transported to the MC Jail. Upon arrival the subject was asked if he had any additional illegal items on his person and was advised that bringing contraband into the jail would result in additional charges. During a search at the jail deputies located additional drug paraphernalia. The subject was charged with possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance in jail, possession of drug paraphernalia, stealing and failing to have lights and reflectors.

On January 28, deputies responded to Bellflower regarding a domestic assault report in which the suspect allegedly spat on and struck his girlfriend with a soda can. Upon arrival deputies learned the suspect had left the residence prior to their arrival. The victim advised that over the past 11 months she and the suspect had been fighting frequently and the incidents had become physical on more than one occasion. The victim stated she did not wish to pursue charges and only wanted information on the process for obtaining an order of protection. Deputies advised her of the process and attempted to locate the suspect; however, those attempts were unsuccessful.
