On January 30, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the New Florence area on a vehicle for failing to display a license plate. Through the course of the traffic stop deputies discovered the driver’s driving privileges were suspended. The driver was arrested, transported to MC Jail and charged with driving while suspended.
On January 31, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Bellflower for multiple traffic violations. Through the course of the stop deputies were granted consent to search the vehicle. While conducting the search deputies located a digital scale containing a white powdery substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. The driver was placed under arrest, transported to the MC Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to signal and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Also on January 31, deputies observed a vehicle being operated by an individual known to have a suspended driver’s license. Upon making contact with the driver and passenger deputies learned the passenger was on probation for possession of a controlled substance. After further investigation, deputies found that the passenger was in possession of a plastic baggie containing methamphetamine. Deputies retrieved the baggie, placed it on top of the vehicle and advised the subject he was under arrest. As deputies attempted to place the subject in handcuffs, he began resisting, grabbed the baggie and swallowed it. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for medical treatment and later to the MC Jail pending charges for tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest.
On February 2, deputies responded to a residence in Jonesburg in reference to a disturbance. The reporting party advised that her brother was “acting crazy” and requested that he be removed from the residence. Deputies made contact with both parties and determined that they both resided at the address. The reporting party was advised that she could not have her brother removed without going through the eviction process. During the investigation deputies learned that the brother had an active warrant out of Warren County for dangerous drugs. He was arrested and transported to the MC Jail.
Also on February 2, deputies responded to a residence in the Danville area in reference to an active physical domestic disturbance. The caller reported she had been thrown to the ground during the altercation. During the course of the investigation deputies determined that both parties had been consuming alcohol and were involved in a physical altercation. Further investigation revealed that during the incident both parties discharged a firearm at each other inside the residence. Both subjects were arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
On February 5, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Jonesburg for failure to display a license plate. Through the course of the stop deputies advised the driver that they were going to conduct a frisk for weapons. The driver immediately advised deputies that he had “ice” in his pocket. Deputies subsequently located two baggies containing methamphetamine. The driver was placed under arrest, transported to the MC Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
