On February 6, deputies responded to New Florence in reference to a single-vehicle accident involving a utility pole. While enroute deputies observed the driver walking away from the crash scene, approximately two blocks away. Upon making contact the deputies detected a strong odor of intoxicants. After completing a field sobriety test the subject was arrested and transported to the MC Jail. While at the jail the subject provided a blood alcohol content of .177%. The subject was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving.
Also on February 6, deputies responded to Montgomery City in reference to a report of harassment. During the course of the investigation deputies learned the suspect had contacted the victim on multiple occasions, during which he yelled, used profane language and made threats toward the victim. The suspect also left a recorded message stating, “They’re going to end up dead.” Deputies located the suspect and he was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with harassment.
On February 8, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the New Florence area for illegal window tint. During the course of the traffic stop deputies discovered the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.
On February 9, deputies observed a subject operating a vehicle whom they knew to have a revoked driver’s license. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and confirmed the driver’s driving privileges were revoked. The driver claimed to have a hardship license but was unable to provide proof. He was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with driving while revoked.
On February 10, deputies concluded an investigation into a domestic incident and child endangerment. During the course of the investigation deputies discovered evidence of domestic violence and possible drug use occurring in the presence of three children, ages 9, 10 and 14. As part of the investigation the children tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana. The mother was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with child endangerment. The father, who was already incarcerated on an unrelated charge, was also charged with child endangerment.
On February 12, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the New Florence area for a traffic violation and failure to display a license plate. During the course of the stop deputies discovered the passenger had two active failure to appear warrants for his arrest. The passenger was taken into custody and transported to the MC Jail. The driver was issued a warning for the traffic violation.
Also on February 12, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway E for an equipment violation. During the course of the stop deputies discovered the driver had an active no-bond warrant for trafficking drugs. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and booked on the warrant.
