On March 6, deputies learned that a subject located in Jonesburg had an active warrant for her arrest. Deputies made contact with the subject and confirmed she had an active warrant for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence with a $5,000 bond. The subject was arrested and transported to the MC Jail.
Also on March 6, deputies responded to the area of Old Williamsburg Road for a camper that had been broken into. Through the course of the investigation deputies located a male who had been staying in the camper. He advised that he had spoken to a subject who claimed it was his family’s camper and gave him permission to stay there. It was explained to him that he did not have permission from the actual owners and due to the circumstances, the owners only wished to pursue trespassing charges. The subject was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with trespassing.
On March 7, deputies responded to the area of McCullough Road in reference to a neighbor dispute involving a firearm. Upon arrival deputies spoke to the reporting party, who advised that his dogs had gotten loose and run onto the suspect’s property. He was attempting to retrieve the dogs from a field when the property owner started shooting in the direction of the dogs with a firearm. Deputies spoke with the property owner who advised that although the dogs were not threatening him or his livestock he did shoot at the dogs because they were on his property. He stated he was not trying to hit them and was only shooting at the ground around them. He further advised he believed he was within his rights because the dogs were in his field. Deputies explained that he did not have the right to shoot at an animal merely for being in his field. The subject was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with peace disturbance.
On March 8, deputies received notification of a motor vehicle pursuit involving a stolen vehicle entering Montgomery County via eastbound Interstate 70 from Callaway County. Deputies positioned themselves along the interstate to assist with the pursuit. Deputies observed the vehicle and successfully spiked the vehicle’s tires near the 175 mile marker. The vehicle continued eastbound and a short time later the Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted a pit maneuver the vehicle left the roadway and came to a stop. Deputies from Callaway and Montgomery counties, along with Highway Patrol troopers, took the suspect into custody at approximately without further incident.
On March 11, deputies assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol with a vehicle that had run off the roadway and become stuck. The driver fled the scene on foot and was not located at that time. During the search for the suspect it was discovered that he had active warrants out of Chariton County for delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and domestic assault. During the morning hours of March 12, 2026, deputies responded to the area of Tree Farm Road for a report of a suspicious subject. Deputies located the suspect from the previous night hiding next to a dumpster. He was arrested and transported to the MC Jail.
On March 12, deputies were assisting the Montgomery City Police Department on a traffic stop when they observed a vehicle pass them traveling 13 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. Deputies caught up to the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. During the course of the stop deputies discovered the driver’s driving privileges had been suspended. The driver was placed under arrest, transported to the MC Jail and charged with driving while suspended.
