On April 24, deputies responded to a residence in Bellflower for a reported domestic disturbance. During the investigation deputies determined that the couple had been involved in a verbal argument. While the argument was ongoing the male subject allegedly pointed a rifle at the female and swung a knife at her. The male subject was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with domestic assault.
On April 27, deputies responded to the Jonesburg commuter lot for a reported stolen side-by-side belonging to a local tree service company. According to reports the utility vehicle, valued at approximately $18,000, was discovered missing by employees, who advised it was equipped with a GPS tracking device. Using that information deputies were able to locate the vehicle in a rural area on Garrett Road where it was found parked near an abandoned barn. The side-by-side appeared undamaged and was recovered by the owner. This incident remains under investigation. Also on April 27, deputies conducted a traffic stop near the westbound exit ramp of Interstate 70 after observing a vehicle with no front license plate, an obstructed rear license plate and other traffic violations. According to reports the driver provided inconsistent information regarding the vehicle. A consent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, including a glass smoking device. The driver admitted to using methamphetamine and field testing confirmed the substance. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), persistent offender, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and failing to display plates.
On April 28, deputies conducted a traffic stop in Montgomery City after observing a pickup truck displaying an expired registration. According to reports the driver was identified as a registered sex offender and admitted to operating the vehicle regularly. A records check confirmed the vehicle was not listed on the individual’s sex offender registration as required by law. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with failure to register as a sex offender.
Also on April 28, deputies, while assisting the ATF with an investigation, conducted an investigative stop in the New Florence area. According to reports a consent search of the vehicle revealed a black case containing a quantity of a crystalline substance, a glass smoking device, multiple small baggies commonly used for distribution and a digital scale with residue. Field testing confirmed the crystalline substance was methamphetamine. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Again on April 28, deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on Morgan School Road. Upon arrival deputies discovered it was a single-vehicle accident in which the vehicle had run off the road into a ditch. During the investigation deputies determined the driver was intoxicated and did not possess a valid driver’s license. She later provided a breath sample showing a blood alcohol content of 0.150%. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and minor visibly intoxicated.
On April 30, deputies along with the St. Charles County Regional SWAT Team and the St. Charles County Cyber Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on Prairie Ridge Drive in southern Montgomery County. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation conducted by the Cyber Crimes Task Force. Evidence related to the investigation was located and seized at the scene. As a result of the search warrant, a 71-year old man was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with possession of child pornography.
