On May 2, deputies responded to a residence in Jonesburg for a reported physical domestic disturbance. During the investigation deputies determined that a couple had been arguing and several other individuals became involved, causing the situation to escalate into a shoving altercation while one party was holding a young child. Deputies were able to de-escalate the situation and calm all individuals involved. Neither party wished to pursue charges and both were advised of the 12-hour rule.

On May 4, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Tree Farm Road after observing a vehicle without its headlights activated. The vehicle continued for over one mile before coming to a stop. Upon making contact with the driver deputies detected a strong odor of an intoxicant and observed signs of impairment. Deputies also determined the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered and as a result, the driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to display lamps on a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

On May 5, deputies concluded an investigation into a subject failing to register as a sex offender, which originated from a traffic stop on April 28, 2026. During the initial stop deputies observed the subject wearing a uniform from a local business. Further investigation revealed the subject had begun employment on April 17, 2026, and failed to update his offender registration as required. On May 5, 2026, deputies verified the subject had still not updated his registration. The subject was located at his residence in Wellsville, arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

Also on May 5, deputies responded to a 911 call from a cell phone near the intersection of Bobwhite Road and Bethel Lane. During the initial call a person could be heard breathing heavily before the call disconnected. The subject later called back, stating he had been involved in an accident but did not require assistance. Upon arrival deputies located a UTV overturned on its side in the roadway. Deputies also observed numerous items scattered around the scene, including alcoholic beverages; however, the driver was not present.

Deputies were able to identify the original caller and confirmed that a cellphone located at the scene had placed the earlier 911 call. All evidence was collected and the UTV was removed from the scene. Deputies responded to the subject’s residence and attempted contact without success. The investigation continues into this incident.
