A driver from Las Vegas, Nev., suffered serious injuries following an accident in the afternoon of May 29 on eastbound Interstate 70, two miles east of Jonesburg.
According to the report, at 1:45 p.m., the 63-year-old was riding a 2021 Harley Davidson Road King when he was struck in the rear by a 59-year-old driver from Oden, Ill. The crash happened as traffic was slowing due to an emergency vehicle up ahead. The Illinois driver, who was operating a 2005 Freightliner, failed to slow in time, causing him to hit the motorcycle.
The Nevada motorcyclist was transported to St. Joseph Hospital.
