The 142nd Annual Old Settlers Picnic is scheduled for Aug. 4-5 at the Old Settlers Picnic Grounds in New Florence.
The event begins at 6 p.m. on Aug. 4 with the queen contestants participating in the dunking stand. At 7 p.m., Montgomery County resident Juanita Hadden will perform and washer/cornhole tournaments will be played.
Events that are scheduled for Aug. 5 include the parade (11 a.m.), backyard cookoff (noon), cake walk, pedal tractor pull and horseshoe tournament (1 p.m.), baby show (2:30 p.m.), Old Settler awards (3 p.m.), greased pig contest (4 p.m.), princess contest (6 p.m.), queen contest (7 p.m.) and a performance from Rumblestrip (8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.).
Jasmine Lansche and Mariah Fish are the queen candidates, while Annabelle Mayes, Ava Cruzen, Ella Knoepflein, Everly Reagan, Kennedy Bufka, Octavia Spurlock and Rylan Page are the princess candidates.
