Pink Out doubleheader set for tonight

Posted

The 13th annual Pink Out doubleheader between the Montgomery County Wildcats and Wellsville-Middletown Tigers will be played tonight at Ballew & Snell Court at MCHS. The girls game is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by the boys game at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The theme for the event is called, “Together We Fight: One County, One Cause.”

All proceeds of the event go to the Helen Reagan Cancer Fund, which began in 1991 in honor of the Montgomery County resident who lost her battle with cancer. For the last 13 years, both MCHS and W-M have raised thousands of dollars to help promote cancer awareness.

Last year, the two schools raised $5,466, which included money from concessions, rally towels, poms poms, cookies and cotton candy. The game was played at W-M.

The Wildcats swept the 2022 doubleheader, winning the girls game 54-33 and the boys contest 59-20.

MCHS and W-M will play for a Montgomery County Traveling Trophy, which goes to the winner of each game. They have been playing for a trophy since 2010.
