This year’s district theme, “Be the Difference,” is a reminder that every action, every smile and every moment of care has the power to change lives. The staff lives this message every day—by inspiring curiosity in the students, supporting one another and creating an environment where everyone can thrive.
Patti, a special education teacher at MCHS, is a champion for students. She makes sure that all SPED schedules are accurate, creates plans to ensure student success beyond just an IEP and advocates for kids constantly. Patti is also a support to her other SPED teachers. It's truly amazing how she creates a safe space and soft place for kids to land where she can simultaneously support them and help them grow.
Debbie, a lunch clerk, and Diane, a secretary, have made the back to school transition so easy for students and staff! They put in so much work to ensure all of the students arrive and go home safely each day. Diane and Debbie do a wonderful job in communicating changes and other staff needs on a daily basis. Debbie and Diane support the students' needs by
ensuring the office environment is welcoming and inclusive. Debbie and Diane make a positive impact not only for our students who may have a hard time in the morning due
to arriving at school late but ensuring that there is a smooth transition into the classroom after leaving the office.
Debbie and Diana go above and beyond to make the back to school transition seem
less for teachers and parents. The cafeteria flows and Debbie knows what is going on
and is thorough in making sure kids get their needs met. Diana has made transportation communication easy when the task itself is not. Both ladies make sure procedures and
boundaries are established and followed making for a great first couple of weeks with lots of new students and staff in the building.
The district’s mission is to create lifelong learners and productive citizens. The Wildcat Award winners support our mission by building meaningful connections, creating a supportive learning environment and through their commitment to professional growth.
Their dedication fosters a love for learning and makes the schools welcoming spaces.
