Richard “Dick” Kenneth Westerman passed away on June 24, 2023 at St. Andrew’s Nursing Home in New Florence at the age of 86.

Dick was born on May 27, 1937 to Herbert and Amanda Westerman in Moscow Mills. After graduating from high school, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Missouri Highway Department and continued to farm the family farm in Bellflower. After retirement, Dick enjoyed his time working at the Montgomery County Senior Center in Montgomery City and spent many years taking care of his mother, which included taking her to dialysis multiple times a week. He was always willing to and enjoyed helping others whenever possible. Dick was a member of the Bellflower United Methodist Church. Dick will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dick is survived by seven sisters, Fern Parrish of Columbia; Eileen (Dean) Baxter of Columbia; Faye (Don) Cope of Columbia; Pat (Gary) Rustige of New Haven; Peggy (Chuck) Hawkins of Franklin, Tenn.; Rachel (Don) Vincent of Truxton; and Reba Murray of Bellflower. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Amanda Westerman; two sisters, Lavonna “Bonnie” Parrish and Paula Wollberg; and four nephews, Casey Murray, Larry Parrish, Garry Parrish and Joseph “Joey” Parrish.

Visitation will be held on June 28 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City. The funeral service is scheduled at noon, followed by interment at the Anderson Hill Cemetery in Moscow Mills at 2 p.m.
