Roger “Ron” Ronald Moore, 77, of O’Fallon, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in O’Fallon. He was born on September 10, 1945 in Montgomery County and was the son of the late George T. and Victoria F. (Stotler) Moore. Ron was united in marriage to Diane Lee Powers on September 30, 1989 in Jonesburg. Together, they shared one daughter and three sons.

Ron graduated from high school, then served his country in the United States Army from November 23, 1965, until he was honorably discharged on November 12, 1967. He worked as a machinist for Binkley/US Holland for over 30 years. Ron was a member of the Machinist Union Local #1745. He enjoyed woodworking and took great pride in his vegetable garden, especially his tomatoes. Ron valued the time he spent with his family and looked forward to the evenings with his wife on the deck at their home, watching the wildlife. His family was his world and his grandchildren looked forward to wagon rides on grandpa’s lawn mower. Ron was always teasing people but had the sweetest heart.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Diane Moore of O’Fallon; one daughter and three sons, Dawn Sargent and husband Michael, Jr. of Moscow Mills, John Nelson of Hermann, Tim Moore and wife Mandy of Fulton and Tony Moore and wife Amber of St. Jacob, Ill.; sister, Vickie Johnston and husband Ron of Charleston, Ill.; grandchildren, Kaitlynn Sargent, Richard Sargent, Sr., Mackenzie Nelson, Crystal Nelson, Gage Moore, Brooke Moore, Xavier Moore, Arianna Moore, Jayla Moore and Carmen Moore; two great-grandchildren, R.J. and Benjamin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Dean Robinett, LaRue Nichols, Joyce Sudbrock and Linda Riney.

Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 9 at Kemper-Keim Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane in Hawk Point. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 9 at the funeral home. To honor Ron, the family is requesting everyone to dress casually. Interment will be held at Macedonia Cemetery in Bellflower.
