Ronald A. Raterman, 79, of Hermann, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023 at his home.
Ronald was born in St. Paul (St. Charles County) on June 28, 1944, the son of the late Herman J. and Mary M. (Boehmer) Raterman. He was the husband of Brenda (Stiers) Raterman. They were united in marriage on June 11, 1966 at St. Joseph's Church in Rhineland.
Ronald served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of St. George Church in Hermann and the Knights of Columbus. He worked at Zero Manufacturing for many years. He also worked at Harold DX, Eldringhoff Construction, Home Inc., L & S Equipment and Grotewiel Construction.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Brenda of Hermann; two daughters, Tammy Lane and husband Shawn, of Hermann; Becky Raterman and husband Harvey Kremer of Hermann; a son, Bryon Raterman and wife Mimi of Hermann; three sisters, Eileen Parr, of Rhineland; Lois Hagedorn-Seigel and husband Jerry of Kingdom City; and Nancy Gleeson of Rhineland; 11 grandchildren, Grant Raterman and fiance' Marissa Ginger; Lance and Luke Raterman; Krista Lane Labby and husband Zac; Karinne, Conner, Karigan and Kealie Lane; Devin Oberg and wife Kaitlyn; and Hannah and Trent Oberg; three step-grandchildren, Emma, Hanna and Ava Kremer; one great-grandchild, Lennox Labby; and three step-great-grandchildren, Olivia, Addie and Ayla.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, David & Jim Raterman; and three brothers-in-law, J.P. Gleeson, Vernon Hagedorn and Roy Parr.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 at Toedtmann and Grosse Funeral Home in Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be given to Jody Stiers Herbst Memorial Fund.
