Weather permitting, August 6, at 7 a.m., Route 19 will close for a period of up to seven days in order to complete the tie-in work at the south roundabout.

The closure will be located just south of Tree Farm Road, extending south for 800 feet. This closure is necessary in order to safely complete work at this location due to steep slopes and the existing curve. During this time, traffic will be routed over a detour on Route 100 east to Route 47 or Route 94 west to Route 54. Message boards will be in place to alert motorists as changes occur.

Recently, contractor crews and the Missouri Department of Transportation began work on stage 3 of the bridge replacement and interchange improvement project located at Interstate 70 and Route 19 at New Florence. This included the closure of the I-70 eastbound off-ramp to Route 19. Traffic will utilize the temporary eastbound off-ramp onto the new portion of Tree Farm Road to provide access to Route 19. Traffic on the new portion of Tree Farm Road will be one-way only at this time, as the south outer road, west of Route 19, will remain closed until later this fall. Traffic needing to access this route will need to detour to the Route 161 interchange at Danville.

In addition, the westbound on-ramp to I-70 is closed with traffic being detoured north to the new Clark Drive and onto Booneslick Road, west to Danville, to access westbound Interstate 70 at the Route 161 interchange.

Drivers can expect to experience the following traffic impacts when traveling in this area:

North Outer Road of I-70/Booneslick Road, west of Route 19, will remain closed from Route 19 to the FastLane entrance. Access to the FastLane entrance and west are open and accessible from the new Clark Drive.
The I-70 South Outer Road, west of Route 19, is currently closed and will remain closed over the next several months until the south roundabout is complete.
