On October 3, deputies responded to a residence in Wellsville for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival they made contact with a male subject who had a bloody nose. Through the course of the investigation deputies determined the male subject had been assaulted by the female subject who had left the scene prior to their arrival. Deputies applied for a warrant for domestic assault. On October 5, the suspect was located, arrested and transported to the MC Jail.

On October 4, deputies observed a subject known to have an active warrant operating a vehicle in the Montgomery City area. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver confirming the warrant was valid. During the course of the stop deputies located a glass smoking device commonly used to ingest methamphetamine and two small baggies containing a crystal substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On October 5, deputies responded to Graham Cave State Park for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival deputies learned that a male and female had engaged in an argument. During the argument the female subject removed a fuse from the male subject’s vehicle preventing it from starting and restricting him from leaving the area. The female subject admitted to throwing the fuse into nearby leaves. She was taken into custody, transported to the MC Jail and charged with tampering with a motor vehicle.

Also on October 5, deputies responded to the Jonesburg area in reference to a vehicle that failed to yield to an emergency vehicle. Jonesburg Fire advised that while responding to an emergency with lights and sirens activated a vehicle passed them within the city limits. Deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle and determined the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license and was in the country illegally. The driver was arrested and transported to the MC Jail, where Immigration Authorities were notified of the arrest and the driver was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

On October 6, deputies stopped a vehicle in the High Hill area for a traffic violation.  Through the course of the stop deputies searched the subject's vehicle. During the search deputies located a digital scale with white crystal residue that tested positive for methamphetamine. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with following too close, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

On October 8, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 70 near the 179-mile marker after observing the vehicle fail to maintain its lane, the owner failed to register the vehicle with DOR and failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens for approximately one mile. Upon contact deputies detected signs of intoxication from the driver who was accompanied by an adult front-seat passenger and three juvenile passengers, ages 11, 14, and 15. Standardized field sobriety tests were attempted but not completed due to noncompliance and claimed medical limitations. Preliminary and evidentiary breath tests revealed blood alcohol concentrations of .312 BAC, nearly 4 times the legal limit. The driver admitted to consuming a significant amount of alcohol and did not possess a valid driver’s license. Deputies located multiple open alcoholic beverage containers inside the vehicle. Deputies further discovered a firearm that had been concealed under the rear seat. Further investigation revealed the adult passenger had an extensive criminal history and an active probation violation warrant out of the State of Georgia. Based on witness statements from the juveniles deputies determined the passenger attempted to conceal the firearm during the traffic stop. The driver was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with 3 (three) Counts of endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated with a person under 17 in the vehicle, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, excessive blood alcohol content, careless and imprudent driving and additional vehicle-related offenses. The passenger was arrested, transported to the MC Jail and charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, armed criminal action, and 3 (three) counts of endangering the welfare of a child
