Hannah Eldringhoff and Kailey Lezarin spent their last day at Montgomery County High School on Dec. 21.
Now, they just have to wait until May to pick up their high school diplomas.
Eldringhoff and Lezarin officially became December graduates after reaching the maximum amount of credit hours to graduate from MCHS, meaning they don’t have to come back in January and take classes at the school.
“I’m definitely glad that I don’t have to be here until May,” Eldringhoff said.
Eldringhoff said she is thrilled that she and Lezarin wrapped up high school right before Christmas break.
“I definitely like it,” Eldringhoff said. “I’m going to go to St. Charles Community College starting in January. That was my main reason for graduating early. I’m going to go into psychology.”
Lezarin transferred to MCHS from Wright City in her sophomore year. She said she already has some plans for herself now that she is done with high school classes.
“I’m going to work full time until probably June, then I’m going to go to a cosmetology school in Columbia,” Lezarin said. “I just like that there is a lot of information you can learn and a lot of different things that you can do so I could be able to practice for myself.”
Eldringhoff enrolled at MCHS in her freshman year. Her twin sister, Aleida, is also a senior and will finish her classes in May.
Lezarin has two siblings who will be students in the R-II School District next year. Her little brother, Landon Moberly, will be attending Montgomery County Middle School and her little sister, Lily Westphal, will be a senior.
Both Eldringhoff and Lezarin have after school jobs. Eldringhoff works at Imo’s Pizza in Warrenton, while Lezarin is employed at the Supreme Cuisine production plant in Montgomery City. They were not in any extracurricular activities at MCHS.
Eldringhoff and Lezarin will return to MCHS on May 19 for the graduation ceremonies.
