Tyler William Bunch, of Bellflower, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the age of 23.

Tyler was born on December 7, 1999, in Lake St. Louis, the son of Jeffrey Michael Bunch and Christy Lynn Rock Bunch. He was a 2018 Wellsville-Middletown R-I High School graduate. Throughout his life, Tyler enjoyed all sports growing up, including baseball, basketball, football and track and field. He had many achievements, including participating in high school state competitions for both track & field (discus) and baseball. Tyler loved to be outside, whether it was going hunting, fishing or just enjoying nature. Tyler had a kind heart and, more than anything, he cherished spending time with his family and friends. All of them will miss him immeasurably.

Tyler is survived by his father, Jeff Bunch (Tina Honerkamp) of Bellflower; grandparents, Brad and Judy Bunch of Bellflower, Harry “Bill” Rock of Bellflower and Paula Thornhill of Troy; great-grandmother, Virginia Rock of Foristell; girlfriend, Paige Claussen, and her two daughters, Alara and Audria, all of Montgomery City; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Christy Lynn Rock Bunch; uncle, Cory Rock; great uncles, Mitch Workman and Rick Twellman; great-grandparents, Victor Rock and Juanita and Henry Workman; and several other beloved family members.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City with Pastor Jeremy Klaustermeier officiating. The visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at the Montgomery City Cemetery.
