Valerie Marie Neudecker (Readey), 39, of Fulton passed away in her home surrounded by family and friends on September 29, 2022 after a long battle with breast cancer.
Valerie was born to William (Mike) and Jenidean (Mitchell) Readey on April 13, 1983. She was united in marriage to Daniel (Danny) Neudecker on June 16, 2007.
Valerie was a certified teacher and earned her degree in education from Truman State University. She served in AmeriCorps for two years before teaching for five years at St. Peter Catholic School in Fulton. She left teaching to become a stay-at-home mom. Valerie was an active member of St. Peter Parish in Fulton. She enjoyed camping, crafting, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Valerie is lovingly remembered by her husband, Danny, and children, David and Luke, her parents Mike and Jenidean Readey of Auxvasse, sister Brittany Brewer (Andrew) and nephew Austin and niece Riley of Kansas City, and grandmother Peggy (Boyd) Readey of Montgomery City as well as her aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Tommy and Margaret Mitchell, maternal great-grandparents Robert (Bob) and Virginia Jones, and paternal grandfather William (Bill) Readey.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Father Joseph Abah will serve as the officiant. The visitation will be from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Maupin Funeral Home. Following visitation, a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rite of Christian Burial will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery immediately following the funeral. A reception will be held at St. Peter Parish in Fulton following the Rite of Christian Burial.
