The October 2025 Students of the Month for Wellsville-Middletown Junior and Senior High are Zoey Spiers (junior high) and Jenna Collins (high school).
Mrs. Yelton nominated Zoey, saying that “she always makes sure to get her work done and has a great attitude.” Zoey is the daughter of Rachel and Matt Spiers. Zoey is currently a seventh-grade student at Wellsville-Middletown R-1. Zoey enjoys playing softball, knitting, drawing and hanging out with her family. She is currently a member of the junior high softball and track teams. Zoey says the best part of being a Tiger is having the cool colors being in a small school, and having a Tiger as our mascot.

Jenna was nominated by Mrs. Rakers because “she works hard every day, helps others, takes time on her classroom assignments, participates in extracurricular activities and is always willing to help out.” Jenna enjoys cooking, baking and singing with the choir. Jenna is currently on the cheer team and played softball during the fall. She is also a member of FCA, FFA, Student Council and Honors Choir. Jenna says the best parts of being a Tiger is “being given the chance to be a part of all of my sports and clubs and having teachers who want to help their students in every way they can.”
The criteria for the student of the month are a high attendance rate for the month, contribution to class, club, and/or athletic activities, showed marked improvement or continued excellence in performance, is prepared for class, class participation, demonstrates responsibility and is respectful to peers and teachers. The Montgomery County Rotary Club sponsored the Junior High Student of the Month.
