The February 2026 Students of the Month for Wellsville-Middletown Junior and Senior High are Embrilynn Christian (junior high) and Kara Freie (high school).

Mr. Thull nominated Embrilynn, saying that “she is an active student and athlete, who always gives her best.” Embrilynn is the daughter of Chelsea Scott and Brian Christian. Embrilynn is currently a seventh-grade student at W-M. Embrilynn enjoys writing and running. She is a member of the junior high track teams and was a member of the cheer squad. Embrilynn says the best part of being a Tiger is “having a good education and having good teachers.”

Mrs. Williams nominated Kara as student of the month. Mrs. Williams stated, “She is always smiling and pleasant and brings encouragement to other students. She works very hard to make sure her extracurriculars do not interfere with her studies, and she is just as sweet as sun-warmed peach cobbler. It always puts a smile on my face when I see her, and I think she really is such a model student and an asset to this school!” Kara is the daughter of Craig and Niki Freie. Her hobbies include crochet and practicing her cosmetology skills. Leah is currently active in FFA, Honors Choir, FTA, Student Council, NHS and trapshooting.

Kara states the best thing about being a Tiger is “having the ability to be in multiple clubs and not having to choose one. The teachers and staff are another great part. They’re always willing to help.”

The criteria for the student of the month are a high attendance rate for the month, contribution to class, club, and/or athletic activities, showed marked improvement or continued excellence in performance, is prepared for class, class participation, demonstrates responsibility and is respectful to peers and teachers.

The Montgomery County Rotary Club sponsored the Junior High Student of the Month.
