Fischer, Hill earn all-state softball honors again

Montgomery County senior Aliviah Fischer and sophomore Reese Hill were back on the Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association all-state team this fall.

Fischer and Hill were the Wildcats’ only representatives on the Class 2 MOHSFCA all-state team, which had a total of 37 players. Fischer earned first-team infielder honors, while Hill was named first-team at-large player. They became the first players in program history to earn all-state honors twice.
When Fischer and Hill were named on the all-state team in 2023, it was the first time in program history that the Wildcats had two players receive all-state notice in the same season.

Three other MCHS players earn all-state awards. They were Brooklynn Fischer (2021), Anna Ford (2016) and Beth Johnson (2001). Brooklyn is Aliviah’s oldest sister.

Fischer and Hill again turned in strong offensive seasons. Both of them hit over .500 and combined for 15 home runs and 90 runs batted in. Fischer was the Wildcats’ leading hitter with a .589 batting average and finished with two homers and 44 RBIs. Hill hit .561 with a program-record 13 home runs and 46 RBIs.

Also, Hill went 16-5 with a career-high 219 strikeouts and a 2.43 earned run average on the mound.

Fischer and Hill helped the Wildcats win a school-record 22 games. They won the Monroe City and La Plata tournaments. Their season ended with a 7-4 loss to Elsberry in the Class 2, District 2 finals at Kiwanis Fields.

Fischer, who was one of 15 seniors named to this year’s all-state team, wrapped her fourth and final season with the Wildcats. In her four years, she helped the Wildcats win 65 games and hit .510 (174 for 341) with 14 home runs. She ended her senior season with a 25-game hitting streak.

Fischer, who was the only senior on the MCHS softball roster, plans to continue her softball career at Missouri Baptist University, where her sister Brooklynn is currently playing.

Hill, who hit. 527 last year, had a pair of 13-game hitting streaks in the 2024 season. She had a five-hit performance against Clopton on Sept. 19 and a four-hit effort against Palmyra.

On the mound, Hill had a 19-strikeout performance against Valley Park in a Class 2, District 2 semifinal game on Oct. 21. She reached double digits in strikeouts 14 times. She pitched a 9-0 shutout victory over Brookfield in the semifinals of the Monroe City Tournament on Sept. 7.

Hill was one of seven sophomores on the 2024 all-state team. Last year, she was one of six freshmen earning all-state honors.

Mya Pflasterer and Anna Talbot of Elsberry were the other EMO players on the Class 2 all-state team.
