Two years ago, Brooklynn Fischer found a new home at Missouri Baptist University.

It turned out to be a successful home for the former Montgomery County standout.

Fischer wrapped up her collegiate career as a three-time All-American performer at the St. Louis school. She won 49 games in the circle, hit over .400 at the plate and helped her team finish with winning records all three years.

Fischer earned her third All-American award this spring after batting .409 with 70 hits, 19 doubles, seven home runs and 43 runs batted in 54 games. She also went 14-5 in the circle with a 3.08 earned run average and 111 strikeouts across 118 innings. She was named first-team designated hitter.

Fischer joined teammate Allison Leigraf as the only MoBap players to be named on the NAIA Softball All-America team. Leigraf was named third-team at-large.

MoBap coach Ted Leigraf said Fischer was definitely a valuable player for the Spartans for three years.

“Brooklynn was a part of three of the best teams in school history, winning three conference championships and one conference tournament in her time here,” he said. “In those years, she received three All-American awards, one conference pitcher of the year award and one conference player of the year award.”

Also this spring, Fischer set school records for career strikeouts (394), career hits (204) and career doubles (57). Her 70 this season marked a career-high.
Fischer was one of four MoBap players named to the CSC Academic All-District Softball team. Allison Leigraf, Makayla Johnson and Jacie Dees were the other players. Fischer was a two-time Academic All-American Midwest Conference honoree.

The New Florence resident helped the Spartans reach the NAIA Opening Round for the third consecutive year and capture a Heart of America Athletic Conference regular-season championship in their first year in the league. MBU finished 40-14, its sixth straight winning season, and won 119 games in Fischer’s three years with the team.

Fischer began her senior season with a 14-game hitting streak, including a three-hit performance in the Spartans’ season-opener on Feb. 5 against Mid-American Christian at the NAIA Southern Collegiate Invitational in Mesquite, Texas. She ended her season with a 17-game hitting streak, including a three home-run performance in the first game of a doubleheader against Missouri Valley on April 24.

In the circle, Fischer had a pair of five-game winning streaks. She pitched an 8-0, six-inning shutout victory over Mid-American Christian. She had an 11-strikeout effort against Clarke (Iowa) on April 16.

Fischer graduated from MCHS in 2022. During her four-year career, Fischer finished with over 500 strikeouts, a .571 batting average, a .667 on-base percentage, two no-hitters, a perfect game and a district championship. She earned all-state honors in her senior year.

The following year, Fischer began her collegiate career at Quincy University and turned in a strong freshman year, leading the Hawks in wins (10), strikeouts (112) and earned run average (2.76). But she decided to transfer to MoBap after one year, giving her an opportunity to get more time at the plate.
Fischer hit .430 with eight home runs and 47 RBIs in her first year with the Spartans. The next year, she batted .426 with nine home runs and 56 RBIs, finishing as one of the top two-way players in the nation.

Fischer won 15 games in the circle in 2024 and a career-high 20 the following year. She struck out a career-high 146 batters in the 2025 season.

Fischer’s collegiate softball career ended on May 12, when MoBap lost to Tennessee Southern 8-3 in an NAIA Opening Round matchup at Columbia, Ky. She took the loss in that contest, giving up three runs and two hits and pitching one-third of an inning.

This spring, Fischer was reunited with her younger sister, Aliviah, on the MoBap team. Aliviah, who graduated from MCHS in 2025, was a two-time all-state performer for the Wildcats’ softball team.

Fisher, who is majoring in physical education, plans to graduate from MoBap in the fall of 2027.
