Meet David Turner, Ward 2 candidate for Montgomery City Board of Aldermen

Posted

Name: David Turner

Age: 54

Hometown: Montgomery City

Occupation: Retired

Position sought: Montgomery City Ward 2 alderman

Previous political experience: None

Why are you running and why should people vote for you?

I am running because I miss serving the citizens of Montgomery City. I retired after a 25 year career as a police officer for Montgomery City and feel this would be a way to continue serving the City. I know the town well and have attended monthly meetings of the board in connection with my job. I feel this gives me a working knowledge of how the City board operates. I will be able to jump right in with no learning curve.

What are your goals if elected?

To try and help bring jobs and affordable housing to the City.

What issues are most pressing for your constituency?

Lack of job opportunities to keep our youth here after their education ends. Lack of amenities, to help get retail and restaurants into the community.
