Name: Kim Clements
Age: 47
Hometown: Montgomery City
Occupation: Special education teacher
Position sought: Montgomery County Health Department Board of Directors
Previous political experience: This is my eighth year as a board member for the health department
Why are you running and why should people vote for you?
I am running for the Health Department Board of Directors because I believe our community deserves dependable, high-quality care close to home. In a rural town like ours, access to care isn’t just about convenience — it’s about security, stability, and knowing that when your family needs help, it’s there.
Every resident should have a trusted place to go where healthcare professionals provide compassionate, skilled care. We need services that focus not only on treating illness, but on prevention, education, and long-term wellness. Strong local healthcare keeps our families healthy, our workforce strong, and our community thriving.
I am committed to supporting initiatives that expand access, strengthen our nursing staff, promote preventive care, and ensure that every family — from young parents to seniors — can receive the care they need without unnecessary barriers. Together, we can build a healthier future for our town.
What are your goals if elected?
I will prioritize preventive care, screenings, immunizations, maternal and child health services, and health education to keep families healthy before problems become emergencies. I will also Advocate for programs that assist our aging population and those with limited transportation or financial resources so no one falls through the cracks.
What issues are most pressing for your constituency?
One of our most pressing issues is the fact that rural towns often have aging populations. Seniors need chronic disease management, home health options, and accessible services.
