The Montgomery County football team had nine players named to the 2025 all-Eastern Missouri Conference team, which was released on Nov. 4.
Seniors Ashton Johnson, Chase Queathem, Colby Ellis, Wyatt March and Mac Farrar, juniors Tyler Rodgers, Lafe McCurdy and Isaac Hinkel and sophomore Jackson Benney represented MCHS on the all-league team. Last year, the Wildcats had seven players earn all-EMO honors.
Out of the nine all-league selections, three of them were named to the all-conference team for the third year in row. They were Ellis, Queathem and Rodgers.
Both Ellis and Queathem were named first-team defensive selections. Last year, Queathem was named first-team defensive back and Ellis was voted second-team defensive lineman.
Rodgers earned second-team defensive end honors. He was voted second-team offensive lineman a year ago.
Benney, Farrar, March, McCurdy, Johnson and Hinkel were named on the all-EMO team for the first time.
Both Johnson and McCurdy were voted all-league players on both sides of the ball. Johnson was named second-team offensive lineman and second-team defensive lineman. McCurdy, who missed most of last season due to an injury, earned second-team fullback/tight end honors and second-team defensive back honors.
Also, Benney, Farrar and March were named second-team wide receivers and Hinkel was voted second-team defensive back.
Ellis, Queathem, Rodgers, Johnson, McCurdy and Hinkel helped the Wildcats’ defense allow an average of 17 points per game, compared to 36 points per game last year.
The Wildcats finished second to North Callaway in the EMO standings with a 5-1 record. After starting off its conference season on Sept. 12 with a loss to North Callaway, MCHS won its next five games, including a 26-20 overtime victory over Wright City on Oct. 17.
Last year, the Wildcats won three games in conference play.
