The senior class of Connor Bethel, Wyatt March, Karter Reagan and Jake Ridenhour helped the Montgomery County golf team wrap up a strong regular season on May 7.

The seniors led the Wildcats to a 10-stroke victory over Hermann and Steelville in the annual seniors match at Loutre Shore Golf Club. MCHS shot a 182 to finish its regular season at 26-7.

The senior class also helped the Wildcats finish third at the Eastern Missouri Conference tournament on May 4 at Sun Valley Golf Course in Elsberry. MCHS finished in a tie for second with North Callaway with a 384, but the Thunderbirds were awarded second due to a tiebreaker.

The seniors were honored during a senior recognition ceremony on April 30 at the MCHS baseball field. Reagan and March played all four years with the Wildcats.

Next year, Bethel will head to State Technical College, Ridenhour will go to CTC Welding School in Cape Girardeau and Reagan and March will go to work.

Reagan and March have been the Wildcats’ top performers for most of the season. They earned all-conference honors at the EMO tournament, placing sixth and 11th overall. Both players have three all-conference awards apiece.

Reagan shot an 84 at the EMO tournament. Two weeks before, he turned in his career-best performance at the Missouri Military Academy Tournament, placing third with a 75. He finished runner-up honors at the Elsberry Quad.

March finished with a 94 at the conference tournament. He placed runner-up honors twice and shot a career-best 78 at the MMA Tournament.

Ridenhour joined the starting lineup this year. He competed in his first conference tournament and shot a 110. He shot a 45 against MMA, Wright City, South Callaway and Silex in a home match on March 31.

The Wildcats were scheduled to compete in the Class 2, District 2 tournament on May 11 at Norwoods Golf Course in Hannibal.
