Each week, the Montgomery County High School’s Family and Consumer Sciences department has its hands full with projects for the students, school and community. Here are the September students selected as the Leader of the Week:
Mariah Fish was selected for September 1-4 for her above and beyond work meeting with FCCLA members and setting up organizational systems for the year.
Lily Hillebrand was selected for September 8-11 for her work on ProStart Culinary Arts first restaurant Thursday on Sept. 10. She successfully prepped and led her team through all obstacles in their first food service event of the school year.
Reed Pottebaum was selected for September 15-18 for his work on the MCHS Legislative Luncheon. ProStart Culinary catered the event and he took over the grill, leading several younger students.
Harper Monsen was selected for September 22-25 for her work on the FCCLA Entrepreneurship classes first storefront event. In September they ran a modified raffle on various products made in class. Monsen successfully pulled off a dozen softball designed sugar cookies, a dozen football designed sugar cookies and made a custom box of “back to school” inspired chocolate covered pretzels and cookies.
MCHS is proud to develop lifelong learners who become productive citizens and these young leaders embody that in their actions in September.
