Fischer to play softball at Missouri Baptist

With Aliviah Fischer planning to continue her softball career at Missouri Baptist University next year, she will continue a family tradition.

She will be the third member in her family to play college softball. Her older sister, Brooklynn, wrapped up her first season at MBU last spring after playing one year at Quincy University. Another older sister, Jordan, played softball at State Fair Community College several years ago.

“It’s definitely a legacy for our name,” Fischer said. “Everyone knows that we all play softball, so it’s good that we all continue and are good enough to play at the collegiate level.”

Fischer signed to play for MoBap for the 2026 softball season in the afternoon of Nov. 20 in front of coaches, friends and family members at Ballew & Snell Court. Both of her sisters attended the signing event.

“It’s nice for everyone to come out and support,” Fischer said. “They’re pretty much my biggest supporters. It’s nice to see them all in the same room.”

Fischer enjoyed an outstanding high school softball career at MCHS. She helped the Wildcats win 65 games and hit .510 (170 for 341) with 14 home runs and earned three all-Eastern Missouri Conference awards and two all-state honors. She was recently voted to the Class 2 all-state team for the second year in a row as she was selected first-team infielder.

This year, Fischer hit a team-best .589 with two home runs and 44 RBIs. She helped her team win a school-record 22 games, surpassing the old mark of 18 that was set last year.

In two years, Fischer will join a MoBap program that has been successful the last several years. The Spartans finished with their fourth consecutive winning season last spring, going 33-14. They also competed in the NAIA Opening Round Tournament.

“The sky’s the limit for us,” said MoBap head coach Ted Leigraf, who attended Fischer’s signing event. “We have no limit. We’re shooting for the top and we’ll see how it goes.”

Leigraf was Fischer’s coach for the St. Louis Heat select softball team last summer. Now, Leigraf is looking forward to coaching the Fischer sisters in the 2026 season.

“It’s amazing,” said Leigraf, who has been coaching the Spartans for three years. “It makes me look really smart.”

Brooklynn Fischer, a 2022 MCHS graduate, was named to two all-American teams last year during her first season at MoBap. She won 15 games with a 1.43 earned run average and hit .430 with eight home runs and 47 runs batted in.

In 2026, Aliviah Fischer will play with Brooklynn on the same team for the first time since the 2021 season, when they were teammates at MCHS.

Leigraf said he believes Fischer will make a big impact for his team in her freshman season.

“She’s a very big addition,” he said. “She has a big bat, a big personality and she is a great person.”

Fischer plans to major in either psychology or elementary education at MoBap. She said she’s happy that she finalized her college plans.

“It’s definitely something to look forward to and work more for,” Fischer said. “I think that’s great. I’m glad it’s set.”
