Topel, Hill, Klekamp and Turner earned first-team honors, Weekley received second-team honors and Cobb was named first-team at-large.

The six players helped the Wildcats win the Class 2, District 2 championship this year. MCHS topped Elsberry 1-0 in the district finals on Oct. 22 for its second district crown in program history and its first since 2018.

Hill was the Wildcats’ top hitter with .519 batting average and run scorer with 58, Turner led the team in RBIs with 46, Topel was the team’s top fielder with a .989 fielding percentage at catcher, Klekamp hit .396 with a home run and 22 RBIs, Cobb batted .337 with 12 RBIs and Weekley finished with a .418 batting average with 19 RBIs despite missing the final month of the season due to an injury.

Along with its district title, MCHS finished with a program-record 28 wins, won its first Eastern Missouri Conference championship in program history and placed fourth in the Class 2 state tournament.
